Easy Homemade Gifts for Valentine’s Day

Easy Homemade Gifts for Valentines Day

Lauren Valukas, Writer

Valentine’s Day, like with most gift-giving holidays, causes stress over what to give friends, family, or significant others. Homemade gifts are even more special because the time spent making gift is another way to show you care. Here are three homemade gift ideas you could use to make your loved one happy this Valentine’s Day.

Sugar Scrub

Things you are going to need:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup organic coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon pink sugar sprinkles (optional)
  • 6 drops of vanilla essential oil

 What to do:

  • In a small microwave safe bowl melt your coconut oil for 30 to 40 seconds (be careful because coconut oil gets hot very fast)
  • Add 6 drops of your essential oil to your melted coconut oil and mix them together
  • In a small measuring cup combine your sugar and essential oil/coconut oil blend and mix well
  • Scoop your finished sugar scrub into an 8 oz. mason jar
  • Mix in the heart sprinkles (optional)

Open When Letters

These are one of the most easy at home gifts you could make. They can also be long lasting because they do not open them until they are feeling a certain way. Unless they are impatient and open them all once they get them.

Things you are going to need

  • Colorful marker or pens
  • Envelopes
  • Paper

What to do:

  •  You make a list of open when messages and think about what you want to write inside the envelope. For example, “Open when you are sad” or “Open when you are happy”
  • Than decorate the outside of the envelope however you want
  • Next write your message inside the envelope and close it

Date Jar

This is going to be extremely helpful when you and your significant other are hanging out and have no idea what to do. Just pick a stick out of the jar and now you have an idea.

Things you will need:

  • A mason Jar
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Marker or pen to write with
  • Date ideas

What to do:

  • Write an idea for a date on each popsicle stick.
  • If you want you could color code them ( Purple is outside, Red is at home, Green costs money)
  • Put them in the mason jar
  • Decorate the mason jar however you want

If none of these homemade gift ideas seem right for you then consider a classic: a handmade card filled with your heartfelt sentiments.
