SARASOTA, FL — A mix of incoming restaurants, a planned private club and a national burger honor are keeping the Sarasota-Bradenton dining scene busy. New details include a Michelin-recognized pizza brand, Michael Jordan’s 1000 North and a planned McDonald’s in Parrish.

The latest changes point to continued growth across Sarasota County and northern Manatee County, with some projects already set to open and others still moving through local approvals.

Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza set to open at University Town Center on June 23

Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza is scheduled to open June 23 at The Market at University Town Center in University Park. The address is 5231 University Parkway, Suite 111, and the company said it will be the brand’s first location in the Sarasota-Bradenton market.

The 2,200-square-foot space will include indoor seating and an outdoor patio. The Miami-born chain is known for star-shaped artisanal pizzas and was founded by chef Renato Viola.

1000 North plans October debut in Sarasota with additional space already secured

1000 North, the members-only club and waterfront restaurant backed by Michael Jordan, is expected to open in October at the BLVD building at 520 N. Tamiami Trail. The Sarasota location will take up about 13,000 square feet.

Company chief operating officer Alex Elshimy told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune that 1000 North also recently closed on nearby property at 1290 Boulevard of the Arts. That added another 10,500 square feet to the project before the restaurant has even opened.

The club’s Jupiter flagship has drawn attention for its high membership cost, including a first-year initiation fee and annual dues.

McDonald’s files Parrish application as Alpine Steakhouse earns national burger praise

McDonald’s has filed an application with Manatee County Development Services for a proposed restaurant at 12303 U.S. 301 N. in Parrish. The location would be part of Parrish Town Center near the intersection of U.S. 301 and State Road 63.

Elsewhere in the area, Alpine Steakhouse at 4520 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota was highlighted by USA Today for serving one of the best burgers in America worth a trip. The restaurant, which was featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” serves a Signature Steakhouse Burger with house-made jowl bacon, a crispy onion ring, Swiss cheese and other toppings.

USA Today described the burger as a substantial two-handed sandwich and singled out the steakhouse’s sides, including the twice-baked potato, truffle fries and German potato salad.

A busy stretch for restaurants across Sarasota and Manatee counties

Together, the openings, expansion plans and national recognition suggest steady momentum for the region’s restaurant market. From fast food to upscale private dining, the announcements span several different parts of the local food scene.

For diners, the biggest immediate change is the arrival of Mister O1 later this month, while 1000 North and the Parrish McDonald’s remain in the development stage.
