Track Season Starts March 6

Whitney Robbins, Editor

Winter sports at Park High School are rapidly coming to an end, and spring sports are right on its heels: track and field being one of them. This year’s track and field team will again be coached by Heather Vallejos and Frederico “Freddy” Garcia.

Last season (2022) was a successful one. Many personal records were made, many medals were earned, and many bonds were formed. Two athletes, Carter Sura and Emmanuel Johnson (EJ), made it to the State Championship with EJ winning state for high jumping. With the same determination our athletes had last season, this 2023 season will be another success.

The first practice will be on March 6th, 2023 right after school until 5. If you’re looking to start getting in shape before the season starts, check out the pre-season conditioning page on Park’s track and field website. You’ll also find other helpful information, such as apparel, expectations, and schedules. Don’t forget to also check out Park’s YouTube channel for videos of last year’s meets.

There will be an informational meeting held Wednesday, February 22 after school in room 255A. If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Vallejos in room 234 or Mr. Garcia in room 255A.
