20 Daily Habits for a Happy, Healthy, and Balanced Life

More and more many people, especially students, are finding it very difficult to maintain proper everyday habits. We neglect the important little facets of our lives that keep our feet on the ground. It’s important to realize that only you are in control of the things you do to keep a healthy schedule and balanced life. Here is a list of 20 daily habit ideas for you to start living your life the way you need to, happy and healthy.

  1. Wake up and go to sleep early
  2. Make your bed every morning 
  3. Drink a big glass of water as soon as you wake up
  4. Work out until you sweat 
  5. Practice morning & evening meditation 
  6. Wear clothes that make you feel good, even if you’re just at home all day
  7. Write out your goals to remind yourself what you’re working for
  8. Make a plan or schedule for your day
  9. Spend an hour on that “one thing” 
  10. Have a green smoothie 
  11. Do one thing you’ve been putting off 
  12. One hour of learning: (books, podcasts, online courses, etc.) 
  13. Come up with five new ideas 
  14. Post a thought online: A short blog post, picture, or new idea
  15. Go on a walk outside (try it barefoot to really feel the earth!) 
  16. Give a smile or compliment to a stranger 
  17. Send someone you know a nice message 
  18. Gratitude: think of three you appreciate in your life 
  19. Review the day: What worked? What didn’t? 
  20. Make a list for tomorrow to clear your mind before you sleep 

Many of these things can be done very quickly and conveniently. If you are finding completing all of these tasks everyday difficult, begin with only doing 5 a day, then day by day continuing to add another daily habit. Have fun and happy living!
