For all the apple pie lovers this sweet treat will have every mouth salivating and keep the kids wanting more. Enjoy this treat with caramel or your favorite ice cream. It has 18 servings, so good for those family parties. There is a 30 min prep time but only 2 hours and 15 minutes in total. 

 

Crust Ingredients:                                     Filling  Ingredients:                           

-Cooking spray                                             -6 peeled, cored and sliced apples   

-I cup or 2 sticks of butter, softened            – juice of half a lemon 

-½ cup granulated sugar                              – ½ cup of packed brown sugar 

-¼ cup packed brown sugar                         – 1 tsp. of cinnamon 

-2 ½ cups of flour                                        – 1tsp pure vanilla extract 

-½ tsp of kosher salt                                    -½ tsp of kosher salt 

 

Topping Ingredients:

-1 ½ cup of flour 

-1 cup of packed brown sugar 

-½ tsp of kosher salt 

-¾ cup of melted butter or 1 ½ sticks 

Optional: 1 cup of pecans and caramel for serving 

 

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and a 9’ x 13’ pan lined with parchment paper and then greased. Then in a large mixing bowl beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add flour and salt and mixed till combined.  

Press into the prepared pan and bake for a light golden color for 20 minutes.

In another large bowl mix all filling ingredients and spread apples over the crust.

In a medium bowl mix in the flour, brown sugar, and salt.

Stir in melted butter until clumps form. 

Place topping on pie and bake about one hour or until the top is golden brown.

Let cool for 15 minutes then slice into squares and serve with any ice cream for an extra bit of sweetness.
